About Us

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. From our humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, we’ve evolved into an organization that grants a child’s wish in the United States and its territories every 40 minutes.

Our Chapter

Founded in 1996, The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southern Nevada is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Our mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Fulfilling a child’s wish provides a joyful and meaningful experience that benefits both the child and the family.

In our chapter, we currently have 150 volunteers and welcome other interested individuals.

We currently serve one of the fastest growing areas of the country serving the southern half of the state, encompassing the counties of Clark, Nye, Lincoln and Esmeralda. In 2009, 132 wishes were granted to children throughout the Southern Nevada region. The Foundation’s mission reflects the life-changing impact that a wish experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities. Since inception, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southern Nevada has granted more than 1,100 wishes for local children.

Wish referrals are coming in faster than the funds needed to support them.
