Donor Care Specialist

Title: Donor Care Specialist

Direct Report/Supervisor: Sr. Manager, Development

Supervises: Volunteers and Interns

Status: Full-time, Exempt

Role: Responsible for overseeing the organization’s donor care program and various administrative duties.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

 Donor Care

  • Work with Sr. Manager to implement cultivation and stewardship strategies that strengthen long-term relationships
  • Support CEO & Sr. Manager to track all MOVES management efforts in Raiser’s Edge to build and manage a donor care history
  • Support the Development and Program team to execute donor recognition opportunities
  • Ensure that details of stewardship matrix are compiled and communicated to all involved parties, and that the plan is documented, implemented, and included in the MOVES management system
  • Oversee donor care, mail retrieval, deposit log and in-kind submissions per standard processes

Fundraising

  • Support Development Team with Online Giving, Direct Mail, and other third-party donors through monthly Raiser’s Edge information entry and tracking while executing specific stewardship strategies
  • Work closely with the Development Team to ensure all event participants with gifts over $500 are added to a portfolio
  • Responsible for working with the Development Team to maintain a grant calendar

Administrative Support

  • Conduct research on individual, corporate or foundation donors, or prospects
  • Support CEO and Sr. Manager with producing donor reports
  • Adhere to all Governing Policies, Performance Standards and Guidelines of MAWFA as well as the Chapter internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Accept other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Sr. Development Manager

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of fundraising (Donor Care experience a plus)
  • Possess outstanding written/verbal communications and presentation skills, as well as critical thinking and analytical abilities
  • Strong planning and organization skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to self-motivate, strategize and close
  • Excellent data entry skills (Raiser’s Edge knowledge a plus)
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Expected to work independently and with diverse teams
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effort
