Title: Volunteer Coordinator
Before joining Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada: I was working as a skills trainer and psychometrist, providing mental and behavior healthcare for adolescents at the largest residential facility in Oregon. Most recently, I had the opportunity to move to Las Vegas to launch an IT workforce development and certification program for young adults.
Education: I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and an option in Crime and Justice. Just in case you are wondering, we’re not the Ducks…go Beavs! I also studied abroad at Macquarie University in Sydney, NSW, Australia.
About me: I was born and raised just a few miles from the Canadian border in Newport, Vermont, which means I spent most of my childhood eating poutine in a hockey arena. I moved to Oregon to attend college and am now a happy Las Vegas resident. I love to travel and explore new places and cultures. I have volunteered as a coach and unified partner with Special Olympics for about 12 years and counting. I enjoy watching and playing sports, boating on Lake Mead, going to concerts and spending quality time with my friends and family. Most of the time you will find me spoiling and hanging out with my yellow lab puppy, Stanley!
My favorite thing about working at Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada: My favorite thing about working at Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada is seeing the individual efforts and unique skills of our team and volunteers come together to make wishes come true!
My wish would be: My wish would be to throw the ceremonial first pitch at Wrigley Field. Go Cubbies!
