A Wish Mom's Perspective: Tanner's Story

Tanner 480x250
As a mother, you always hope your children will be healthy and happy. You can imagine my surprise when I found out my three-month-old son, Tanner, was diagnosed with C.H.A.R.G.E. SYNDROME. My baby boy had his first surgery within 24 hours of his birth, spent his first six months of life in the NICU at Sunrise Children's Hospital, and has accumulated over 30+ surgeries with more to come.

A Wish Mom's Perspective: Dawn

Sophia was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in August of 2014. She was unable to go to school during her treatment. She was diagnosed at stage 3 and immediately began a course of chemotherapy. She went through 4 rounds of chemotherapy from August through November. She responded well and was classified as an early and rapid responder.

An Intern's Perspective: Joey

I’ve always been familiar with Make-A-Wish—I’ve seen the captivating advertisements on TV, Allegiant Airlines has a plane wrapped with the Make-A-Wish logo, and I know some specific wishes that have been granted from the news (my favorite was Bat Kid’s wish in San Francisco!)—but I didn’t think much about the opportunity to intern for such a life-changing organization.

A Wish Granter's Perspective: Pat

My daughter was a pediatric oncology nurse in Las Vegas and referred her patients to the local Make-A-Wish chapter. It was because of her that I wanted to join the organization.
