Kids for Wish Kids®

About Kids For Wish Kids®

Kids For Wish Kids is a Make-A-Wish® program that enables students to discover philanthropy by selecting their own fundraising project and managing it from start to finish, with support from parents or teacher advisers. Students develop leadership skills, build self-esteem and learn about teamwork while working towards a final goal, making a difference in the life of a child who is fighting overwhelming odds. Local children do it all - organize, raise funds and manage their school's Kids for Wish Kids program. This hands-on experience helps kids to see first-hand how they can impact another kid's life by helping grant his or her wish.

Elementary & Middle School

Participating in the Kids for Wish Kids program is beneficial not only to the children who will receive the gift of a wish, but also to the students who help make those wishes possible. Lessons learned include the importance of community involvement and philanthropy, leadership skills, building self-esteem, and teamwork. This all happens while helping others and having fun.

There are several ways that your school or youth group can get involved with Make-A-Wish: from hosting a coin drive, having a jump-a-thon, hosting a school carnival or making a star wall on campus, the possibilities are endless. You can choose which opportunity will work best for your school and we can help make your event a success.

We also have a Youth Volunteer Project program – a unique opportunity for students to complete community service requirements while helping make wishes come true for children facing life-threatening medical conditions. The program can be used for a variety of elementary & middle school philanthropy requirements.

High School

The Make-A-Wish High School Kids For Wish Kids program is a unique opportunity for high school students who want to help make wishes come true for children facing life-threatening medical conditions. The program fosters community compassion and goodwill, but most importantly, students learn how they can make a difference for kids and their families.

The high school program offers students real-world experience in community relations, public speaking, marketing, accounting, and teamwork. Students in Make-A-Wish Clubs are responsible for building their team, coming up with fundraising and promotion ideas and carrying them out. Plus, it looks great on college resumes!
