Bank of America has been a Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada community partner since 2003. They are a strong force behind our annual Fashion Show Luncheon and Wishes in Flight campaign. And as if that wasn’t already enough, Bank of America employees have an extremely active volunteer presence with us as well.
Thanks to Bank of America’s generosity, Lupita’s wish to go to Walt Disney World® came true. During a special volunteer recruitment event at The Wishing Place, more than 50 Bank of America employees rallied behind Lupita as she discovered her wish was coming true. Her smile filled the room, as Lupita couldn’t contain her excitement to meet her beloved Princess Elsa and just to be a kid again.
Bank of America’s team of amazing employees plays a huge role in our partnership, including Vice President Edgar Velazquez, a member of the Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada board of directors. As a longtime employee and member of the local Hispanic and Latin community, he recognized the need for bilingual volunteers. Edgar leads an employee resource group for Hispanic and Latino emerging leaders with his company and has been able to encourage participation which increased our bilingual volunteers. With Bank of America’s help, we can connect with Wish Kids and their families and provide the wish experience of a lifetime.
It is companies and team members like Bank of America and Edgar that make our mission of granting the wish of every child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition possible.
