Frequently Asked Questions

What Type of Training do Volunteers Receive?

All volunteers are required to attend our General Volunteer Orientation session in order to better understand the organization and their role as a volunteer. Additional training is also mandatory for the role of a Wish Granter as it is one of our most demanding volunteer opportunities we offer.

Do you have volunteer positions that aren’t emotionally demanding?

Some people would like to help because they relate to our mission, but would prefer little or no direct involvement with the families. The roles that might be the most appropriate for these individuals are Special Events, Airport Greeters and Office help. All our volunteer positions contribute equally to our mission, and bring joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions and their families.

Do I have to live in Vegas?

No. Though most wishes are granted in the metro areas of the state, we still need help in all out-lining counties we oversee. As you complete your volunteer application, please note if you are willing to travel outside of the city you live. We appreciate this as we do not currently have a Make-A-Wish® representative in each county.
