Six-year-old Aniyah is the queen of all things Disney, especially princesses. Discover how her love of once upon a time turned into hope for ever after.
Aniyah loves playing with Legos, coloring, going to the park-especially if there are swings-riding a bike, and playing dress up with her friends. Add Disney princesses to the mix and you have a little girl not unlike many other six year olds. But along with pretending to be her favorite princess, Aniyah is battling a very real condition: cystic fibrosis. This progressive, genetic disease requires her to follow a daily regimen of treatments to help ward off symptoms, including persistent lung infections.
When Aniyah and her family met with Wish Granters Charly and Chrissy, it didn’t take long for this Disney-loving lady to decide that a trip to Walt Disney World® to meet Ariel and the rest of her favorite princesses was exactly what her little heart needed to be filled with hope.
Aniyah’s wish reveal was a very special night sponsored by Dave & Busters, one of our community partners. Family, friends and Disney princesses from Party Ever After all gathered to witness Aniyah’s reaction as she learned her wish would soon become a reality.
In November 2016, Aniyah, and her family traveled to Orlando for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. They stayed at Give Kids the World Village, a 79-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides fully-furnished villas, transportation, tickets to theme parks, meals, daily entertainment, and much more. Aniyah’s non-stop smile proved the power of wish can change lives.
“From the first meeting with her Wish Granters, to the staff at the airport bringing her a welcome package, to the villa welcoming us with open arms, my daughter felt the love,” Aniyah’s mom said. “She will never forget the experience, and we as a family feel truly blessed to be a part of something so big.”
