Carolina Valladares

Title: Bilingual Wish Coordinator

Before joining Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada: I was working at Big Brothers Big Sisters in Minneapolis, Minnesota as a Program Intake Specialist! I had the opportunity to support the enrollment team and advocate for youth within the community.

Education: I graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology and a minor in Spanish Medical Interpreting .

About me: I was born in El Salvador and moved to Minnesota when I was 8 years old. I recently moved to Nevada and have really enjoyed familiarizing myself with the area! When I’m not at work I like to try out new restaurants, spend time with family, running, and being on the lake.

My favorite thing about working at MAWSNV: There is nothing better than seeing the joy that Make-A-Wish brings to wish kids and their families! I get to go to work everyday knowing that we are making a difference.

My wish would be: To have a Golden Retriever pup!

Empathy is the skill or ability to tap into our own experiences in order to connect with an experience someone is relating to us. Compassion is the willingness to be open to this process. ”
