Wish Assists are wish children who live elsewhere, but whose wishes come true in Southern Nevada. For the fourth consecutive year, we increased wishes granted, this year by 22% over FY17.
We rely on donated goods and services (“In-Kind”) to grant quality wishes affordably. Despite double-digit growth in wishes granted, we maintained our lower-than-national average cash cost with thanks to our incredible in-kind donors.
FY18 saw an 18% growth in revenue over last fiscal year, our fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth.
Note that FY17 revenue includes $697,063.27 in Allegiant office in-kind (5-year lease recorded in 1 year per GAAP rules). FY18 expenses include $140,845 for in-kind rent "expense" associated with this donated office space (no FY18 revenue to offset).
Though we prefer to celebrate our success with the above measures, we spend 77% of all funds raised on our programs. Non-DWE Program expenses include those for volunteer recruitment, training, and retention as well as our medical outreach programs to find our eligible children and keep our referral sources engaged.
