Why do you choose to volunteer at Make-A-Wish?
Because I love kids and Make-A-Wish is an amazing organization.
How did you first get involved with Make-A-Wish?
I saw Make-A-Wish Monday on KSNV News Channel 3 when I first moved to Las Vegas and knew I wanted to help.
What experience do you most look forward to?
The wish reveals that I have gotten to attend! Recently Lucky’s, he and his family were amazing and it was so touching to watch them. Also Sultan’s, I loved being part of the reveal. He is a wonderful kiddo and his smile is something I will never forget.
What do you wish other people knew about Make-A-Wish?
That it is different from other charities. Many other children’s charities are based on a goal of curing an illness. Make-A-Wish is purely for the kiddos and giving them a magical experience.
What do you do when you aren’t volunteering?
I work as a union bartender and I like to help people in any way I can.
If you could say one word about your experience with Make-A-Wish, what would it be?
Amazing! The staff, families & kiddos are a total package that puts a smile on my face and makes me forget all my troubles.
We rely on dedicated volunteers, like John, to help grant the wishes of children battling critical illnesses in our community. Click here to learn more about our many volunteer opportunities and to sign-up for our next Volunteer Orientation.
