Kirsten, who was just nine years old when her wish was granted, becomes a parent 15 years later.
In 2004 Kirsten was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma. At such a young age, Kirsten didn’t fully understand how serious her diagnosis was but knew she was sick. She remembers spending a lot of time in the hospital constantly doing treatments and physical therapy. During her treatment, she suffered from a stroke which caused permanent damage to her right hand.
Amid this part of her life, Kirsten wasn’t in school. She deeply missed her friends, her brothers and her sister making it hard to spend so much time away from them.
When Make-A-Wish came into Kirsten’s life it gave her and her family a chance to feel normal again. Her one true wish of meeting the Carolina Panthers and Dan Morgan gave her and her family the opportunity to spend quality time together again.
Now Kirsten is 24 years old and is a mom herself. She also works as a babysitter and nanny. Since having her wish granted in 2005, Kirsten has enjoyed being involved with Make-A-Wish by attending events like Walk For Wishes with her dad to support other wish kids.
